This week, the Wisconsin Urban Forestry Council announced awards honoring those dedicated to protecting, preserving, and increasing the number of trees that line city streets, fill community parks, and beautify neighborhoods throughout Wisconsin. Restoration of our Trees Sheboygan (ROOTS) has been awarded the Project Partnership Award in Urban Forestry, which recognizes outstanding projects utilizing partnerships to benefit our urban forests. It is an honor to receive this distinguished award and would not be possible without the dedicated work of all our partners!
You can watch the awards ceremony here, with the award to ROOTS presented at the 13:30 time mark. You can also read the WDNR press release here and learn more about the awardees here.
If you are interested in learning more about the impact that our work has on our urban tree canopy, tune in to the Healthy Tree Canopy, Healthy Watersheds program taking place on Thursday, March 11 as a part of 2021 Wisconsin Water Week. Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) is hosting the Lake Michigan Regional breakout session and proceeds from Thursday’s presentation will benefit LNRP and Partners. See the presentation description below, and register here!
Healthy Tree Canopy, Healthy Watersheds: A healthy tree canopy is critical to the health of our lakes, rivers, and watersheds.
