With 9 years of experience in the environmental and sustainability field, Anna is excited to share stories of everyday people improving their community through conservation with LNRP’s support.
Anna completed her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Human-Environment Geography from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2018. Her undergraduate years were filled with waste sustainability and education projects that addressed the intersection of social and environmental issues. After graduation, Anna spent a year in New Zealand hiking its beautiful forests, working on sustainable farms, staying with local families, and living in an eco-village. Upon returning to Wisconsin, Anna spent two years as an AmeriCorps member serving with Milwaukee Riverkeeper (MRK). During her time with MRK, Anna spearheaded efforts to reduce plastic pollution in Milwaukee’s waterways through co-organizing the Plastic-Free MKE movement and coalition. Anna built the movement’s volunteer program, communications strategy, and public outreach initiatives from the ground up, with plenty of help from grassroots volunteers and partners. Anna returned to school in 2021 and received her Master's degree in Environment and Sustainability from the University of Michigan, specializing in behavior change, environmental psychology, education, and communications.
Anna now resides in Milwaukee with her partner, Sean, and her cats, Nova and Cosmo. She enjoys honing her foraging skills, gardening, dancing, and spending time in community with her friends, family, and local critters on the shores of Lake Michigan. Each summer and fall, Anna visits her family’s treasured cottage on the Door Peninsula to find peace and connection in nature.
